In 2008, when the company’s founders were preparing to set up the business, an obvious question arose: “What are we going to call this thing?”
That was the beginning of a very interesting discussion about what we were setting the business up to do, how we had seen the most successful business environments work, and what we wanted our company to be.
The debate was ‘lively’ (there were lots of stories told!), but everyone agreed that our name should try and reflect what we believe in and what we do.
There was clear consensus on this: Work environments are most productive when systems and data are effectively integrated, and where different teams have shared access to the systems and data they need. The two notable concepts are:
Integration + Sharing
These words represent some of the most fundamental elements of a good process: information that is needed is available to everyone who participates in the process, irrespective of where that information comes from. Putting these two words together, “IntegraShare” was born.
But this wasn’t the end of the discussion. ‘IntegraShare’ seemed to describe some ideas that aligned with our thinking about what worked well in business, but we still needed to say more about what we do. Again, the conversation got interesting, and two more words emerged from the discussion that we felt were important:
Solution + Engineering
We like the word “Solution”, because a ‘solution’ is so much more than an ‘answer’. It has elements of completeness and flexibility that imply a problem has been solved. That’s what we wanted to do for our clients. We wanted to be thought of by our Customer’s as their partner that could deliver effective solutions to problems that would “take the headache away”.
We also gravitated towards the word ‘Engineering’. The more we thought about it, the more we saw ourselves as being like our clients – creatively and intelligently engineering ideas to design and build things that were intelligent, fit for purpose, and inspiring. That’s what we wanted to do and do better than anyone else.
Again, words were put together and “Solutioneering” was the result.
When we incorporated the company that year, we were proud to call it “IntegraShare Solutioneering, Incorporated”. To this day, our name still describes who we are, the way we think, and what we do.
That’s our story, and we’re sticking to it.
